Art Journaling: Concerts

This seems to be the summer of concerts for a lot of people I know, including  three of my art journaling regulars. For that reason, we had a concert themed page. It could be a concert you’d been to, a concert you were going to, or your dream concert/who you would love to see perform. As a challenge, I asked them to draw at least one music note on their page (some people did it and some people didn’t and I am perfectly alright with that).

We were actually going to do this topic on the week that we did “Toys and Games” because two of my art journalians (that is what I am calling them from now on!) had gone to a Violent Femmes concert the night before but one of them left her ticket at home and really wanted to include it in her page.

Two of the art journalians  were not able to finish during our allotted time, so they sent me pictures once they were done. The page on the left is a layered “mash-up” of 3 album covers from different bands and the page on the right has stylized images of Jon Bellion’s album, EP, and single cover art.

What concerts have you been to (this year or in the past)? What concerts do you have plans to go to? Are there any musical acts that you would love to see in concert and haven’t (or can’t, of whatever reason)? How can you take any or all of the answers to these questions and make an art journaling page? Could you make a scrapbook-type page of ticket stubs? Or use the lyrics to the first song that played at (fill in the blank)’s concert at the very first concert you ever attended? Maybe you create a “ticket” for your dream concert. (My dream concert right now would probably be R.E.M., The High Kings, and Rockapella which can’t happen but would be a pretty strange concert if it did… and it would be awesome!)

I hope our concert pages can help you tune into some inspiration!
Have a wonderful day.
And happy journaling!
